Hot Foil Blocking & Letterpress Printing
For designers who still give a damn.
Real foil. Heavy board. Deep impression.
Hand-fed in Eastbourne and delivered across the UK.

Your design. My pressroom.
You don't need to arrive knowing exactly which paper, foil or process you need. Send me the design and tell me what you're trying to make.
I'll help work out the stock, foil, impression, die and production before anything expensive happens.
The Workshop
I don't play the bish bash bosh game. I supply short-run, high-calibre print using real metal dies, deep ink, and tonnes of mechanical pressure.
Whether you're a local Sussex artisan or a big company somewhere between Land's End and John o' Groats, I deliver across the whole UK.

Presentation & Gift Boxes
Rigid black boxes, short runs, personalisation and custom logo work. Real hot foil, struck with metal dies and enough pressure to leave an impression you can feel.
2. Hot Foil Business Cards
Heavy board. Real foil. Proper impression. From restrained marks on black stock to fine typography, deep deboss and unusual materials.

3. Wedding Invitations & Fine Stationery
Heavy papers, duplexed stocks, hot foil, letterpress and finishing for stationery meant to be kept. No templates. No digital shortcuts.
What happens before the press
Artwork that looks perfect on screen does not always behave once metal, heat and pressure get involved. Fine lines can fill.
Large solids can break up. Some papers take impression beautifully. Others fight back.
So I check the artwork, stock and foil before production and tell you what I think. That is part of the job.
Behind the Press
I’m Simon. I’ve worked in print since 1987, from pica rulers and scalpels to vector artwork and hot-foil dies.
Today I work from a small pressroom in Eastbourne with a Marshall No. 5 hot-foil press and a preference for short runs, difficult jobs and print that earns its place in someone’s hand.
No sales department. No account manager.
You talk to me. I print it.
The Gilded Press — for designers who still give a damn.
